Rock Valley

Well, after a long and excruciating labour, there they were, Catherine’s twins. Unfortunatly for the legacy, they were boys and thus Cat would have to have more children.

The same day the twins were born, Remington felt a strange feeling in his stomach. He tough he was going to be sick soon so decided to stay home from work.

Pretty soon it was obvious that Remington was not just feeling ill, he was pregnant, as Catherine had feared since the abduction.

She remembered her father’s pregnancy and the birth of her little alien half-sister all to well. What was the community going to think about this? Of course, she loved her husband, more than ever, but she feared for his future and the future of this infant he was carrying. Remington was a man of science, his co-workers would love to get his hands on an alien child and the man who bared it, just for the fun of turning them inside out! She didn’t want her husband to become a science experiment. Catherine decided to talk to Remington about it, so they both would know what to do for the next few months.

“Darling, you know we can’t keep this a secret much longer. If you go out in this condition, people will soon put two and two together. We have to figure out a way…”

“A way for what Catherine” Remington interrupted her. “A way for getting rid of me? If you don’t want this child or me for that matter, just say so and I will be out of here in no time”

“Remington, you know that is not what I meant. I don’t want you out of our lives, we have a family together and I love you. I just don’t want to see you get hurt, that’s all”

“I’m sorry sweety, I’ve just been so emotional lately, I don’t know what’s gotten in to me”

Cat smiled. Maybe now he would understand how she had felt being pregnant with the twins.

“It’s allright honey, but we have to find an answer, or else your baby will definetly be taken away. How do you think we will explain this birth?? When my father had Chloë, he and mom both stayed inside and they told everyone the baby was mom’s. Since the green skins evidently runs in my family…”

Remington looked at his wife. Was she really prepared to take his child and raise it as her own? This woman was even greater than he had been tinking. His eyes filled with tears and his heart with love. “Yes, Cat, this will be your baby as much as mine, it will need a mother and I would be honored if you would take that role”.

Well, that was settled then. Cat started telling everyone how happy she was about expecting again, and she truely was pleased there would be another adition to the family. Even Anna was pleased with her next grandchild. She often talked to the baby and kept telling Remington she was absolutely positive it would be a boy.
“You see Remington, the way you carry it all up front? That sure is going to be one big and strong son you’re having!”

Catherine and Remington were thrilled with this new addition to their family. But Remington didn’t feel so confident as Cat did. He felt fat and ugly and couldn’t understand how his wife would stay with him when he looked like he did.
One night, as Cat came to bed and roled over to go to sleep without touching him, he cracked and started crying.
Catherine, not knowing what she had done wrong, turned around and looked at her husband.

“you… snif… you don’t want meeehhheeeee anymooohhoooor” Remington sobbed.
“What do you mean honey?”
“You won’t even make out with me any more, like we used to”
“oh, baby, I tought you didn’t feel like it, I felt terrible when I was expecting the twins, I didn’t even feel like cuddling, so I just asumed…”
He never let her finish her scentence.

Catherine still went to visit the graves of her brother and grandfather daily. One time, she even saw the ghost of her grandpa! Whew, he scared her, but Cat never felt happier, at least now she was sure there was life after death!!
