Yes they were whealthy. So? Did that have to mean she had to be happy? Even little rich girls are entitled to their own lives!
Jennifer was pissed off. The night before, her parents had informed her that if she would proceed with her plans to go to college anywhere but their own alma mater, they would cut down her funding. How could they? This was her life, she wanted to get rid of the reputation that clung to her name, she wanted to be known for who SHE was, not for what some great-grandfather had started. Jennifer was determined to create her own legacy.

Meet Jennifer Mason!

The next day, in the wee hours of the morning, she packed her bag with the bare necessities, called the airport and booked the first flight in to Rock Valley and out of this small country she had lived in for all her life. Jen was going to the US!

When she arrived there, 15 hours later, jet-lagged and tired, with absolultely no place to go, she counted her money. Only 23.000 simoleans left. That would make about 10.000 euro. Mmm… Just enough for her tuition, a cab ride to Sim U and leave her with a small amount of pocket money. Oh well, she did want to see what life being poor was like, right??

She called a taxi and took of. After a two hour drive, she saw the campus. It wasn’t much, but Sim U had a good reputation. She payed the cab-driver and went to the admissions office. Luckily her high school grades convinced them to let her register right away. Jen got assigned to a dormitory right next to the hall where most of the freshman classes took place.

Upon arrival in the dorm, she chose a room. It was tiny, sparesly furnished with a bed and a desk and had scruffu carpet. That was so different from her gigantic bedroom with en suite bath at home. But hey, this was what she wanted? Right??
As she knew nobody at this school, or even in this country, she decided to study, start the assignement that had come with her class schedule.

As the day went by, the other freshmen arrived in the dorms. Everybody seemed to know everybody, they all went to school together and were pleased to see they could share a dormitory. Jennifer started feeling very, very lonely. Did she make the right choise? Well, there was no going back now, she would have to make it on her own.
She decided to go and take a shower early, since that was the least busy time in the bathroom and she hated those public showers!

The year coninued, and Jen studied like her life depended on it. She did every assignement, went to every class, wrote the best term papers she could make up.
