The next morning, Don felt guilty and content at the same time. Had he taken advantage of this lonely woman? He walked into the bathroom and got greated by an extremely chearfull Kaylin.

Kaylin was cleaning the bathroom like she did every morning as she caught Don staring at her. She felt guilty and content at the same time. She had teken advantage of him, didn’t she?

“Don, I’m sory”
“Kaylin, I want to appologise” they both uttered at the exact same time. They laughed and both expalined their feelings. Neither of them felt used and Kaylin asked Don to move in with her and Annie. Heck, she had room for one more person. And so, Kaylin and Don, the rejects of Rock Valley, started a life together.
Neither of them felt romantically attached, but without any of them knowing, the love that had always been there, waiting to burst out, grew. Kaylin and Don fell in love step by step, until one day, months after that first night, Don found it to be the right time to make things official. Heck, his devorce had come trough and he was never going to be happy without Kaylin and their girl. Yes, their girl, Annie had won Don’s hart and vice versa, calling him dadda and making her mother jeleous by asking for her father every morning upon awakening.
So, when Don went into the bathroom where he knew he was going to find Kaylin doing the morning cleanup, he smiled and gently turned her around to face him.

Kaylin smiled, kissed him gently and wanted to turn back to the sink she was cleaning when her lover went down on one knee and pulled out a small black velvet box.
“Kaylin, sweety, we were both alone untill we found each other again. I know my past speeks against me, but I love you, with all my heart. I want to grow old together, be a father to Annie, Kaylin, will you marry me?” he asked, looking at her with his eyes filled with love.

Kaylin dropped the sponge she had in her hand and leaped into her lovers arms. “YES” she whispered in between her tears, “Yes, I will marry you”.

Don lifted her up and carried her to the bedroom.

They agreed to wait with the wedding until Don had gotten that promotion he had been expecting and funds were coming in so they could give a large party for the neighbours. Don was going to show the whole town how much he loved his Kaylin and did not want to have to worry about money being tight.
But then, one fine day, Kaylin felt a little ill. Could it be? She decided not to tell Don and went to her doctor who gladly confirmed her suspicion: she was pregnant! Kaylin was thrilled, but nerveous. Don and she had never talked about having another baby and she had no idea how he was going to react.

She decided to wait untill later that day. When Don came home from work, he had his shower as usual and then came to the small kitchen for his supper. She caught him in the hallway/livingroom.
“Don, we need to talk” Kaylin said seriously. She was nerveous, Don could tell, but why? She wasn’t having second toughts about their relationship? Oh no, maybe she changed her mind, maybe she wanted out?
“What’s wrong Kaylin?” he asked, very softly in a concerned voice.
“Well, I have something to tell you and I fear you won’t like what it is”
What could she be aiming at?

“Don, I’m pregnant. We’re having a baby.”
Don Lothario, the former town gigolo’s face lit up. He smiled, no he grinned at the woman he loved and softly touched her slightly swolen belly. Oh my god, how could he have been so stupid as to not notice the changes she had gone trough these past few weeks. Of course, this was the news.
“Kaylin, nothing could make me any happier right now than to have a child with you” he said and kissed her forehead.
“Let’s get married”
“Don, you already asked me to marry you two months ago” Kaylin responded. “You know I will marry you as soon as we have the money”
“No sweetheart, let’s get married right here, right now. Before your baby is born, before you really start to show. I want this baby to be legally mine Kaylin and I don’t want anybody to think the child is the reason I am wedding you. I love you Kaylin, will you be my wife?”
Kaylin’s eyes filled with tears. How could she ever have doubted his feelings? Of course she wanted him to be her husband, she loved him with all her heart and soul.

Don went out and found a minister who agreeed to come and perform a private ceremony in their home. Before the day was over, Kaylin was his wife, and neither of them could have been happier.

Annie, Kaylin’s daughter and the apple of Don’s eye was their witness, she had grown into a lovely young girl in the mean time and tought of Don as her fathe, no matter what the kids at school told her!
